Against the backdrop of a recession and facing a real terms cut in its Departmental Expenditure Limit, the Scottish Government is continuing to ensure that it invests in its priorities, stimulates a strong economic recovery and secures the best public services possible from the available budget.
The Scottish Budget for the financial year 2011-12 has been passed by Parliament, giving statutory authority to the Scottish Government for its spending plans. For the financial year 2011-12 this stands at approximately £30 billion.
